The Sandman Triathlon is arguably the hardest and torturous individual sports in Africa,done in one of the continents fiercest and coldest Atlantic coasts,in the foggy town of Swakopmund Namibia,some of Africas toughest attend this event annually for preparations for the world stage,it is advisable to be apart of an elite group of athletes to navigate through this obstacle course,because it is dangerous and conditions can change in a split second.
Many have this event on their annual calendar despite its fierce conditions, this is more of a explorers first attempt on conquering the African continent, so if you are keen on participating in this annual meeting please be on your finest physical condition and good luck you will most certainly need it.
Swim: Distance: 1500 meters (.9 mile)
The 1500 meter swim will be a course in the Southern Atlantic Ocean. The swim will end on the beach, with a short run to the transition area in Mole Beach. Expect waves.
Bike: Distance: 40 kilometers (25 miles)
The 40km bike leaves Venice Beach and follows Venita Blvd to Dolphin, for a quick uphill climb to Independence Anenue. Independence Ave. features rolling hills and a nice descent into Downtown Swakopmund.
Run: Distance: 10 kilometers (6.2 miles)
The 10k run travels through Downtown Swakopmund before heading West along Pohamba Str. towards Brücken Strasse. This two loop course is very spectator friendly.
Swim: Distance: 750 meters
The 750 meter swim will be a course in the Atlantic Ocean. The swim will end on the beach, with a short run to the transition area in Mole Beach. Expect waves.
Bike: Distance: 15 miles
The 15 mile bike leaves Mole Beach and follows Brücken Street to Louis Botha Str, for a quick uphill climb to Schul Ave. Olympic Blvd. features rolling hills and a nice descent into Downtown Swakopmund.
Run: Distance: 5k (3.1 miles)
The 5k run travels through Downtown Swakopmumd before heading West along Venita Ave. towards Chinatown. This one loop course is very spectator friendly.
Swim: Distance: 1500 meters (.9 mile)

750m swim starting at Mole Beach followed by a 15 mile bike, ending at the House Music Finish Line Festival.
Distance: 5k (3.1 miles)
The Sandman DT 5k Run/Walk travels part of the triathlon run course - taking runners through Downtown Swakopmund and Chinatown before a spectacular finish at Swakopmund Live.
Distance: 22 miles
Enjoy a 22 mile bike tour through the heart of Swakopmund, starting in Mole Beach and ending at the DT Finish Line Festival.
