Today we will be looking at Bed & Breakfast accommodations in Windhoek and it's surroundings the list will go as usual starting from the best and down the list contains B&B this are places reserved for more frugal travellers and Bag Packers so if you are one of those travellers who don't mind living in a less luxurious and little homes like shelter which will set you back a little average of about $25 a Night this will be your type of list and all are safe, secure and a stone's throw from the capitals CBD.
The 1st spot on this list goes to a shelter located around the most outstanding and behemoth landmarks of central Namibia's good for those just looking for those who'd like a bit of peace and quiet and have no plans for the evening here we have the Out Of Nature Country Lodge.
The Out of country lodge is located 30 km from the Capital's CBD hidden in the chilling valleys of the Auas Mountains a used to be farm still with a bit of early German colonial architecture like most of the age old Building around the country with most of it's sub inhabitants being some common birds and occasional cape baboon species still a family type of accommodation preferred by local Windhoek residence as more of a wedding venue during weekends the rest of the week being calm and easy going if you are the type of traveller that doesn't mind driving a little extra mile or 2 from the capital it should be a preferred shelter it's safe and reservations are available all year round the major reason being that most visitors to the country exploring the far reaches if you are exploring the South of the country or coming from that direction it would be of best interest to stop by for a night and refresh before heading into the busy capital or the long way due south, and it has most of the usual trends you'd find in more luxurious shelters Free WiFi, Clean linen, a Pool, Bar etc.
The 2nd spot on this list goes to a place that has been trending in recent times more of a hype factor I'd suggest because what it tend to deliver are the normal stellar services its rivals do, the second place on this list goes to Jordani Bed and Breakfast.
Jordani is Windhoeks upcoming superstar in the customary accommodation industry,Set inside Windhoek Highland valley in the Urban and arguably safe Olympia Residential area it is still building it's audience a youthful passerby's haven it is run by a local entrepreneurial family and runs a healthy online Marketing campaign it's target set at young volunteer back packers who'd like to be close to the city centre although Olympia is a Residential area it is very Safe and least populated and has a predominantly Caucasian background residency and the B&B is fenced off and guarded like a military barricade or area 51 one might mistake it for an American Embassy building in the Middle east, not very inviting in a local perspective except if your perception of Namibians are based on African stereotypes, besides it's appearance Jordani is welcoming to guest of all racial backgrounds and has all the customary services available in most B&B's country wide some of which are free WiFi,A/C a Pool and Bar so if your a frugal visitor to the City and a little sceptical about accommodation security visit Jordani, besides that it's a lovely frugal travellers dream.
The 3rd Spot goes to a place which offers a little closeness to home than anything it would be wise to stay for a night or two if you feel a little misplaced and uncomfortable to your new surroundings here we have Kate's Nest.
Kate's Nest Guesthouse is located in Windhoek's most central area a simple build guesthouse with a friendly atmosphere where visitors can feel at home with a home-cooked meal they are trying to let their visitors feel at home even if the visitors to their establishment come from different areas of the world where home to one is luxury to another personally at the Haas a guesthouse that makes its visitors feel at home goes a long way it's location though friendly with an occasional car passing can make of a modern-day eutopia bookings might be a bit tide because most visitors to the African continent including Africans need a space where they easily sync into and Namibians still have that fine ancient culture where Africans sacrifice their comfort to let the guest feel and become apart of normal cultural practices a place you'd visit if you visit Windhoeks locals inquisitive about their way of life, because most of our articles are aimed at visitors from other regions inside the country and foreigners and this place suits my article as a Number one.
Our number 4 on the list goes to a place that most frugal and bag packers would visit if the first thing after they get off a plane is to find a place to rest despite most travel agents planning your accommodations beforehand, but Namibia, unlike other African, can make up for mindless dwellers and here we have the Sweet thorn Retreat Airport Lodge.
The Sweet thorn Retreat Airport Lodge is located in the bitter sweet outskirts of the capital where any roost can be worth it's while I would be narrow-minded and blind not to say that a huge majority of accommodation in Namibia are European descented owned but this has a far reaching local historical failure and not something that can be changed with a flick of a tongue it's in your best interest to let the internal affairs handle this and take care of yourself and enjoy a pleasant stay at this fine establishment, I say this because most visitors want a full out African experience from the minute they enter the terminals but in Namibia locals like to assimilate things the Mandela way and like to build a relationship with ordinary things before competing for them and the first place you'd get to know the Namibian way is at the Sweet thorn Retreat Airport Lodge a lovely place the same reception you'd find there is typically customary throughout the country, with it's wildlife being mostly common bird species and some protected wildlife for the out of region visitor it might be rare to see some common baboon species because of their mischievous behaviours when in contact with humans but you will eventually run into them because locals have a love hate behaviour towards them.
Number 5 on our list goes to a place countless backpackers have been visiting for decades now a word as it that they plan on moving it out of town it's a place known as the backpacker's door matt here we have the Cardboard Box Backpacker.
The Cardboard Box Backpacker is a Windhoek backpackers first choice its marketing was merely done by decades of word to mouth and piece by piece it has taken shape as one of Windhoek's popular accommodations though it might not be attractive on sight or a reasonably sensible shelter it's closeness to the city centre and amiably experience stuff have made it more a friendly environment and consistent shelter throughout the decades mostly visited by college outfits from European backgrounds and with one of the Namibia reputable Universities a foot mile away it clearly explains it's formality, but time and technology might have caught up with them because of their ancient marketing techniques and the youth's culture on social media they just got caught in time, if you are a looking for a youthful place where your travels are unplanned and are trying to meet new people and share ideas this is probably the place for you even though security might be a little sceptic, just to mention it is not equipped with all customary quest house features and cheaper of the bunch only for head resting and passing.
The Number 6th spot on this countdown goes to those who's preference are more natural than they are social who'd like a little piece of nature with their morning coffee here we have Namib's Valley Lodge
Namib's Valley Lodge is set in Windhoek's Khomas valley flat bowl-like setting where felt hedgerow look to grow consistently throughout the seasons with some common grassland wildlife at it's background just ornamentally to give visitors who only came to a brief stay to get a little feel of the countries inner habitat this might be the cheapest most visitors in Windhoek will be closer to nature you might be alerted of some sneaky creepy crawlers and phenom that might blend in the underlying bushes Namibia is still an arid desert with its centre is an oasis and it's where most of the affordable explorations are done a vast and sparsely populated scorching hardpan of a country blessed and cursed with extreme weather that mostly goes from worse to extreme in seconds a survivalist board game where your body is tested to it's extreme the second you get off that plane and where else to go to test and let your body adapts to it than Namib's Valley Lodge this is an adventurer dream holiday arena get to know the climate before you explore the country.
The 7th place, of course, goes to a newcomer which seems to be building a completely new take on the industry it's stuff made of more qualified employee's and experienced once which seem to shake the industry into western career structure here we have the Ijaba Lodge
Build on the western outer exterior of the city the Ijaba is taking the Accommodation's industry into a new direction with it's western type structure and it's industry educated and qualified staff,a business concept that might lead them to greater heights if they get their marketing right, the only nemesis being they hold on to their stuff a problem that had faced a lot of new Namibian businesses for decades losing a great majority of their stuff to established contenders of the industries but with their current stuff they have a clear intent of supplying the accommodations industry just with the right services and a place that supplies all the right needs and services for the time being a beautiful setup great location a wonderful view and a great reception with friendly stuff just a breath of fresh rebuff the industry needs, if you don't mind changing accommodations your travel agent set out for this is the type of place you'd enjoy staying at advisable.
The 8th place on this countdown goes to a local favourite most visitors to this fine establishment are locals and regional if you don't mind rubbing shoulders with locals this is the right place here we have the Urban Camp.
The Urban Camp is designated at the far western corner of Windhoek with a client base that ranges from locals to foreigners from all walks of life but the locals have made it a place where they meet out of town friends and neighbours and make some new friends the Namibian Subculture has a mean taste for wine and beer even though the wine is not treated with the same luxury it treated around the world Namibia being a lavish backyard of South Africa when their self are full most of that access wine made it's way into inexperience Namibian hands who just stuff it down like a glass of cognac so if you have a sentimental argument about how wine should be treated this is obviously the wrong place to share it,though Namibians are not very outgoing folk they keep in closed circles and withdrawn from social gather of any type it's rare to find a successful gathering rather the main cause to its political stability than almost all conversations are usually welcomed in this region without causing a riot so when you come to a place like Urban Camp blast away.
The 9th spot on this weeks countdown goes to a place where isolation is welcomed more than anything else this place goes to Ripley`s.
Ripley`s is situated in urban Windhoek most guests put a low profile isolated outfit this plqce has everything a frugal guest would want from bars, restaurants, WiFi a Pool etc. but most guest tend to keep to themselves rather one would blame the dule atmosphere and probably the tension between stuff unlike anywhere else Namibians are not known for thier entreorenueral talents and are very attached to the companies they work for and are a bit skitish when dealing with clients so it's normal when you are addressed with a shaky voice, not because of the fear of you but mostly job insecurity it's always a great idea to keep a stead fast face when visiting place as tense as this it improves the service you get and helps to ease the tension besides Namibia is a former apartheid area and the Afrikaaners are not known for thier humain qualities in this region and anyone of complexion is taken as an agitator and thread to job security but more and more european visitors to the region have eased tension between race's and made for a smooth Assimulation of the Afrikaaners in social harmonisation.
The last spot on this countdown goes to a place where frugality and backpackers meet from all regions of the world and form travel parties here we have the Backpacker Unite
A haven for backpackers from all around the world, Backpacker Unite has been doing business around this part of the continent for a while now with guest from as far as Japan, like the name say's it has been a place where different people from all over meet and form little travel groups engage in conversations and setting out to explore different parts of the country an easy going friendly environment, not so popular but it has made its valuable collection of dedicated clients from around the world there are numerously unlimited places like this littered throughout the country which you can stay in safety is limited but the way the country is set up makes it hard for anyone to complete a routine travelling plan even for locals and Thus making it more difficult even for locals to find anyone could easily get lost around here so getting a perfect travel plan where your location can easily be traced is a must for anyone to this region of the continent so be sure to leave a route plan at B+B's because visitors to this country literally disappear off the surface of the earth.
