This list has a quick review of the most visited and reasonably save camping sides down the coast of Namibia they are highly recommended by most vistors the Namibian western coast is usually colder than the rest of the mainland throughout the year the ocean is cold and the land foggy, camping might be a little uncomfortable but if you're a frugal traveler it might be on one of your acceptable perils.
Here are the list of camping sides starting from the best to the least favourable.
Swakopmund a popular destination for most Namibians is a tourist hotspot and visits are frequent and welcoming mostly for the once from the much hotter Interior mainland it's resident population is small mostly made up of small local tribesmen.
Henties bay is a fishermens preferred destination the waves are more subtle big catches common and adored by none sea bearing fishermen local sports fishermen go there to relax and enjoy a little communion with nature.
Swakopmund which already made the list still has a lot of resorts and accommodations that would fill your lifestyle, welcoming with ready available accommodations throughout the year is circumstantially usually packed during the annual Namibian Holiday and off seasons so it's better to book one or more reservations just to have a clear clue what your chances are if you are looking for a good price.
Luderitz a small humble fishing town set in the hot and dry south of the country is a relieve from the extreme insane hot weather where visitors from the surrounding area flock to for leasure and festivities it's distance from the densely populated centre of the country makes it a ideal place for those who try to avoid crowds a bit more favourable.
Luderitz is one of the first settlements in the country so expect to find some old German architecture with a blend of South African coastal flair merely to the fact that it's much closer to South Africa than it is to the Capital of the country where most of the local cultural exchanges take place so expectt alot of Afrikaans a Language spoken by the huge majority of Western coast South African a ruminant of Dutch.
Henties Bay already has a well recommended camping site on the list but being sparsely populated and a very safe and controlled atmosphere makes it a place with more frequent Campers than any other town in the country you can practically camp anywhere on it's vast distant coast as long as you have a permit and proper recommendations.
Wallvis Bay is a coastal regional capital and a very busy industrial town than any other on this list most accommodations might be filled annually and precaution a must at all time it's safety might be a lot more compromised then most but being a regional capital places of interest are in plenty.
Swakopmund being distinguished in so many ways has drawn a lot of interest Internationally drawing crowds from all over the world being credit with a lot of Hollywood blockbusters a much favourable place to film of the set desert scenes merely due to a very unstable Sahara and it's much manageable focus to the camera lens cold be a preferably destination if you capture a lot of images from light sensitive camera equipment so it's fair to meet the locals and find out where exactly the towns iconic scenery might be found to set up camp for a close to perfect picture.
Walvis Bay has secured another place on this list with its huge majority of people who have a clear understanding of the region and it's traditions the last town to be freed from the apartheid regime,it still has a huge historical gap from the rest of the country's or even the country for that matter, a port city that controls most of the logistics that make it into the region more a business traveller destination than any arguably the second most busy town in the country if you are a marine explorer this is where you will find the equipment that would make your expedition more comfortable.
Henties Bay a Sport Fishing Destination unlike Walvis Bay which caters for the Industry has a soft and smooth camper style atmosphere much homely and environmentally friendly and helpful residents keeping it attractive and resourceful throughout the year has a steady supply of tourist than any of the towns on this list.
