Today's top 10 is quite a nifty little one, we tried to avoid street food as much as we could and tried to build a list that contains original fast-food. comparable to those that would be classified under this category and we came up with a good set of food that one would usually pick up at regular drive-throughs and fast food outlets around the country below is the list of just the popular ones enjoyed by most fast food lovers we ran into even if you don't agree with the below you pretty much heard of them.

We will start from the top and work our way down as usual and at this weeks number 1 spot we have a little something that filled its way into locals bellies from the infamous colonial period the Eisbein.

1.Eisbein

The Eisbein that roughly translates to ice bone originated from the former oppressive German colonies and is one of the culinary cultures that articulated it's rooted into Namibia this meat portion is from a porks leg quarters its name could be related to an urban metaphor that had been used in mid-evil Bavaria and Isn't the only sinister thing that ever made it to this corner of the world and kept its original state,but one thing I sure can agree on is it really is one good piece of pork you will ever taste it can be found in most retail outlets and butchers throughout the country even the major ones so the next time you want to try something tremendous that's just a foot mile away try the Fishbein it's rare cut and cooking rituals make its price a little crampy but don't let that deter you take a brave step and go out to the butchers get a cut and go one step further blast away and create your own at home it'll be an adventure.

The second on this weeks list comes from one of the favourite franchises from the United States recognized for it's unique fried chicken here we have another ambitious flavoured quick fix lunchtime snack it the box master.

2.KFC's Boxmaster

The box master is one of KFC's ingenious fusions of chicken and traditional vegetables it might have a little sting in it with it's over the top surplus of chilli peppers but it still makes a great seasoning I'd take it the idea might have originated from the Mexican tortilla or a American evangelist tortilla its not the only one in store that has it's rooted in Mexican food culture the Twister can also be found on their shelves you can take a chance on the box master if you are brave enough to get your taste buds flaming in unearthly delight,it's not a recipe you can play around at home with because the original creators usually add a little twist in their ingredients and Namibians aren't really the spicy food-loving type,it probably has something to do with the extreme weather but still the box master has a fairly good number of followers that treat it as a religious moment it would be great if some trendy restaurants would cut it into their serving.

The third spot goes to a popular choice that can make the list anywhere around the world it's bigger than most but it's loved anywhere it makes its a presence, it's the one and only Hamburger.

3.Regular Hamburger

This enormously popular food source needs no introduction it's the greatest thing discovered only second to fire, the hamburger only grows ever popular as time goes and it's only a matter of time before it grows it's rooted into the foundation of this beautiful country its already available anywhere around the country and it's DIY accessible if you can't find it create your own anything goes it's better than any swiss army knife you can pretty much throw in anything you like and chow down your mindsets the limit, it still comes out with it's iconic shape even though the taste might be unique and it fits any occasion except weddings any successful franchise has it in their arsenal and it comes in any size and shape, this day you are not a fast-food chain if don't have a burger in your menu the best ones in Windhoek can be found at Mugg beans try it the next time you're close.

The fourth we have a dish that is popular the world over we are lucky to have more than one chain of this fine establishment set up in our great country here we have all but iconic KFC's fried chicken.

4.Fried Chicken

KFC has been around here for quite a long time it had its share of controversies in the west but seam more settled around here mostly due to its lowkey business morals and dedicated social empowerment campaigns, even though Namibia has a very diverse group of people who often have opposing ideologies all of them seem to have no mixed opinions on KFC's great chicken and flavor the last complaint I had from a regular client of theirs was something to do with their fries and salad, a lot of frenchises of the same had made their presence here in the past but all but most had lost the time battle its no wonder Macdonalds never tried to open a chain around here for it had made a great market research and suggestions showed how loyal the Namibia public are on existing fast-food franchises and their original servings it's been a big and consistent existence for KFC's fried chicken in this country and most of us are really glad they came.

And at Number 5 we have a fast-food source that only played second fiddle to the Burger in some countries it is regarded as a major sports half time meal time around here it's still trying to find its bearings here we have the almighty Hotdog.

5.Regular Hotdog

Making a Hotdog is no easy task, it has the easiest ingredients but the lack in good quality of any of its original ingredients could gravely affect the taste of the entire meal, the Hotdog has been around for generations one could argue that it has been around longer than the original Burger but since it's inception in normal street food concepts started to affected it's marketability, merely due to its easy and manageable attributes condemning it to a simple halftime snack but still it circumstantially grinds it's way into traditional fast food outlets or take-aways as we call them in this part of the world, around here the hotdog plays dual roles in conventional take-aways and in urban street food stands and in some instances major retailers also keep an understandable fraction most frequently during lunch time.

The 6th place on this weeks countdown goes to something with a little confection in the United States it's stereotyped as a uniformed man's lunch time nourishment a bakery product the one and only Doughnut.

6.Doughnuts

The iconic doughnut the taste might be the same as the one from all over the world but the Namibian doughnut does not have the iconic hole in the centre, that said the doughnut can almost always be found in major retail outlets on consistent supply a disappointment when you try to avoid crowds and lines even though the two are very rare in Namibia, about the doughnuts street credibility and its sudden vanish from the corner stall was merely due to unstable weed powder and vegetable oil prices infused with preparation time and complexity recipe and ingredients, letting the quick buck making rural entrepreneurs focus on marketing it's less complex and dull cousin the deep fried dough dumplet or fat cake as the locals call it,and that single handedly almost run it to complete extinction, the major problem with the deep fried dough dumplets is it's blunt look,feel and taste and lack of identity and almost unmarketable except in the undeveloped slumps where it finds it's origin.

7.Russian & Chips(Kielbasa & French Fries)

When you take a early morning walk through the city centre of Windhoek you will most certainly get that strong aroma of fried potatoes and bacon, least a dozen times that greasy smell is a cold awakening that the residents are about to sworm the area youre in,not your ritual coffee breakfast but its a miraculous wonder why so many Namibians keep a slander figure while gaulging on so much grease every morning, it probably has something to do with the countries Khoi Hunter gatherer social background where the males keep a lean and slim appearance probably because it increases their success in the hunt while the females are more chunky and plum for gathering chores or maybe i might be wrong but the fairly evident that the average Namibian female weighs in more than their male counterparts the kielbasa and French fries seem to affect them more,It might appear as it seem not the healthiest choice for a morning meal but it ran the engine of this country for year.

The Eighth place on this weeks countdown comes from a establishment that has seen its roots elevate to levels unknown in the fairly well valued years it remained here the Grand Canyon Spurs and its Chiefs Platter takes this one.

8.Spurs Chief Platter

The Grand Canyon Spurs had it's up's fine establishment set up here just as long as the original KFC and set to remain here as long as they could even with past controversies and and managerial disputes it riddles even a dim mind like mine,how a Lowkey formal fast food frenchise have such an intense civic exposure and I discreetly confess to that enviously if only the same could be said about our states governing physique so much would've been different,beyond that Grand Canyon Spurs made the roused the local ears with something they had in their luggages for a while the Chiefs Platter a banquet of it's own it comes in Behemoth Portions and a Wide variety of side components enough to fill an elephant in a single serving it's a brave man's preference a iconic dish even it's successfull breakaway offsping The Cattle Baron envy's the next time your around the city centre pop in and try a aet,or simply Googlemaps your nearest locations.

The 9th place on this weeks countdown goes to a religion on it's own the Italian banquet, that keeps breaking records throughout the world, created in Italy but exaggeratedly over rated and branded by the North Americans States it's the Pizza.

9.Pizza

The Italian oven extravaganza the the Pizza has been a great contribution to the fast food table it is the sheer foundation of most if not all fast food restaurants the world over much popular in the Northern United of America it has made a slow and steady pace throughout the Northern Hampshire overthrowing all fast food chains and even midiocre restaurants a quick profit makers and who can blame it's successful representation in stat production films it's a stable meal in some households I've heart rumors of,but here it's still making it's humble beginnings just like it doing in most countries in the Southern hamisphere,in Namibia it's more of a contemporary stereotype T.V family type aspect,one would argue that it's more to do with existing trend than it is a prevailing custom,and with all trends it fails to succeed in the developing world,back to planet pizza it is one hell of a tasty treat kids just go berzarck for it,its the best form of reward for any kid anywhere in the world wether they saw it before or first encounter the reaction is alwayss the same.

The Final spot on this countdown goes to a chicken cut stereotyped as a blackman's weakness the chicken wings or Buffalo Wings i'd like to argue but have the same weakness for grilled chicken.

10.Buffalo Wings

Some of us like our chicken fries some like it grilled other really don't care either ways but the Buffalo Wings have been a great game time treat especially the some cathup and chilli sauce the same way the Americans have the Hotdog the Buffalo Wings are a Sports Entertainment Weekly Standard no game result will be certain without the Buffalo Wings in terms of economical sustainability it is way off the Hotdog makes more a economy boosting treat than the chicken wings but boy are they delicious, and go well with a afternoon beer i would've put it in first place but let's have a perspective that would've add justice to this list not by a far shot, so for this years list here is where it will end up a customary 10th.
