Today we will be looking at sports and clubs that are still maintaining a healthy lifestyle even at the adversary of finance and equipment constantly evolving into self-sustaining Sports and clubs even with the little help they receive from state and sponsors, they deserve a stan ovation and are very appreciated by their key performers and prodigies,as always the list runs from top to bottom.
On top of today's list, we have a rugby team that only made it recently but still keeps a strong sense of focus it's United.
Rugby in Namibia has taken a revolutionary turn since they weree crowned African continental champions for yet another consecutive year they run to the world cup has been wobbly but turned into worthy antagonists against teams like the New Zealand and South Africa only being outclassed with experience and knowledge of the game and all that could be with gratitude to clubs like Trusco United who have taken the task of grooming players for that level of intense pressure and the need to be competitive and the highest of world rugby, even though it's a new club trucco united has a fair share of success in its young history in a country where players fail to stay in the league.
The second place on this list goes to a sport that has been making waves on the continent and with a new foundation club in Tobias Sunshine Boxing Club and Promotions.
The Tobias Sunshine boxing club is one of Namibia's most successful boxing clubs ever owned by a professional trainer promoter and entrepreneur a pro fighter promotional enterprise build from ground up it has built a lot of world-class fighters some champions in their grade and its still very much active and continues to raise the bar setting an exemplary embodiment of the present era in professional fighting not only in Namibia but the entire African continent.
The third place on this weeks countdown goes to a sport which has been more functional in the female athletes and has raised it's a form of recent with a club with high praise like DTS.
Hockey in Namibia has been making a difference in the traditional sense, a country only known for a hand full of sports disciplines where you have a pretty slim chance of making it as a professional athlete if you have no skills in the main 3 sports domains that are widely practised throughout the country, but with all that narrow gap of influence sports clubs like DTS seem to have primed out a handful of quality players they've persistently stuck with using them as pioneers gracefully forming a cult-like following with fans coaches and mentors all working in unison to form a secluded culture of hockey that actually works and competes in the highest level.
The fourth place on our list goes to a Sport that has been a show up when called on and has shown a great deal of late powered by a really good team which is the Welwitschia Cricket Club.
Cricket in Namibia has taking a back sit down the last 20 years but has recently been making it back with the influx of some well-groomed characters, players that have been very influential on and off the field of play regardless of the task at hand still a sports domain that has been underrated in the country even with the talent it continues to grow compared to its sphere of influence feat that deserves a stand ovation, and nothing of the sort would have been possible without clubs like Welwitschia who have worked tirelessly throughout the years to keep that little light shining, just most of the sports Disciplines on this list cricket in Namibia is still finding it's rooted in this country the only difference being it has tasted defeat at the highest of levels than most in the past.
The fifth-place goes to a sport that has been around since the beginning competitive sports in Namibia and still keeps a consistent flow even with the Financial pressure around it, it's Netball with the Wanderers Sports Club leading its development so far.
Netball has a root heritage in this country and has been greatly respected and has a special place in the hearts of many who practice it as a profession around here players become very good at a very young age but as they mature the lack financial backing that would turn them into high-performance athletes almost always seem to be a major worry in this sports with all it's talent just waiting In the sidelines, but with all that count sending impacts resilient clubs like wanderers have been delving deep into their own pouches nurturing players setting them up for the competitive challenges of professional sports and they have effortlessly done that time and time again throughout the years against all odds.
At sixth we have a new entry in Namibian Sports history a little prominent in the first year's of its existence but slowly picking up the pace its Karate with the JKA Shotokan Karate Club leading the pack.
Karate in Namibia is still quiet at it's infancy it still requires a lot of funding and public notoriety much practiced as a past time hobby than a actual professionally competitive sports discipline that could actually change lives, surely despite its low key humble backdrop if you look at it aroma different angle it nonetheless has a reasonable following and festivities can often raise a considerable number of proponents most noticeably attracted by its notoriously violent contact sports statuses even though it's religious beliefs are preaches it to be used as a self-defence sports rather than as aggressors tool kit, little sports clubs like JKA have been trying to set up platforms where fighters could learn and practice the art in a more safer and controlled environment where it has a greater chance of the public to notice it's rarely understandable origins.
The Seventh place is meant for a sport that has been around since the '90s in this country but has grown more popular with support from the Rotary Club at its background and making sure new clubs like NCCS are welcomed and more competitive here we have Cycled with the NCCS recent leaders in its development.
Cycling in Namibia is an annual event and meetings only take place about once or twice a year more of an expo and industry festivity, besides that athlete of the domain spent a lot of specialist equipment and effort on this events not to be taken lightly this athlete are very competitive and do not take their adversaries lightly, unlike the rest of the sport here cycling does not actually suffer from financial sponsorship it has backing, individual athletes may have a difficult task starting from scratch but as soon as they are noticed as valuable prospects that take their form seriously the ritual grooming practices start to take effect, NCCS is a new player in this sports discipline but it's intentions are raw and direct competition at all levels even if the original clubs that started the culture still remain and still kicking at their best.
At Eighth we have a sport that needs no introduction on the African continent still trying to find its form and identity in Namibia football had its most uncertain future yet in Namibia with recent controversies and all, clubs like Black Africa still remain stellar through it at.
Football in Namibia just like the rest of the continent is taken very seriously despite it's low ranking compared to it's west African mates players follow a very straight forward grooming ritual from children to professional representatives to their respective associations football in Africa is more of a see learn type of sport every boychild usually braces it during their lifetime an evergreen sports type that makes its presence on society felt like the professional sports it's set out to be.
The Ninth place is occupied by an organization and sport that seem to go under the radar even with all the efforts the trainers and clubs put into, Swimming in Namibia has been around since the '70s but still does not have any recognisable contenders but clubs like Aqua AFC have been keeping an alert eye for any Prodigies and grooming key performers.
Swimming in Namibia is a sport associated with the upper-class subcultures and is not the chosen sport for the less fortunate that makes up an enormous background of this country and thus lacks a lot of state backing and has a very slow to non existing grooming process star athletes and forthcoming prodigy's in the discipline are forced to brace the sport and leave, but in the recent chapters of it's graceful existence some past specialists of the trade have joined hands and set up independent clubs like Aqua swimming still to make a noticeable appearance and produce real star athletes of the country clubs like aqua are still not sure in which direction they will be heading to in the future even though they're intentions a clear and direct.
The final place on this list goes to sport that has become popular in the early 90's when the country produced one of Africas greatest performance Athletes but Track and Field athletics has been down spiralling ever since his retirement even with All the endorsements and support from him and state, but luckily clubs like the Harriers have an eye open 24/7 for any prodigies that sprung in the future.
Athletics Namibia still has to create another star athlete when it comes to field and track events since the retirement of their star athlete from the sport back in the late '90s but efforts are hindered by financial and social backing and the lack of outside interest on the sports itself most of its young prodigies usually move on to other sports discipline as they mature not that they usually make any difference there but just to keep the peace with their conscious.
